Leila dismisses "kyeyo" rumors

It was alleged that she was going through hard times, pushing her to ditch music for Kyeyo (odd jobs).

Local singer Leila Kayondo's management has dismissed rumors suggesting that she has left the country to seek greener pastures abroad. Last week it emerged on social media that Leila had flown out of the country for Boston.

It was alleged that she was going through hard times, pushing her to ditch music for Kyeyo (odd jobs). Word also had it that her boutique in Kansanga had closed.

Her manager, Wajjid Badruddin described the rumors as misleading. He said people spreading the rumours have ill motives, probably, to weigh his artiste down.

He said Leila is in the country. "We are even here organising for a video shoot for her new song, Kyanagwe. She has not stopped singing," he intimated.

Leila was spotted at The Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday during the Club Music Awards. And on Sunday, snoops bumped into Leila at her shop.

Wajjid says she had gone to Boston for a brief holiday. "It was bankrolled by Star Such, a label she is signed to" he added
