Paralympians for Seven Hills Run

Mar 02, 2017

The run will start and finish at the Pearl Africa Primary School, Nsambya in Kampala on March 12, 2017.

Uganda's first and only Paralympic medalist David Emong will lead a team of ten disabled athletes (Paralympians) at the NSSF Kampala Seven Hills Hash Run.

The Hash Run will start and finish at the Pearl Africa Primary School, Nsambya in Kampala on March 12, 2017.

Uganda Paralympic Committee General Secretary Innocent Tumwesigye said the run is going to enable the Paralympians interact with the rest of Ugandans who know little or nothing about Paralympics.

The Committee plans to field athletes in the wheelchair, visual and physical disability three categories.

They will also use it as a preparatory activity for Uganda's athletes at the World Para Athletics Championships scheduled to take place in London later in July.

"We are delighted that NSSF requested that we field a team in the NSSF Kampala Hash Seven Hills Run. It will provide an opportunity for our athletes to showcase their potential to Ugandans," said Tumwesigye.

Emong won a silver medal in the 1500-metre race at the Rio Games last summer.
