Infantino to meet Museveni

The FIFA president has embarked on meeting FIFA member associations around the globe to share ideas on football development projects

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has rescheduled his visit to Kampala to allow him meet President Yoweri Museveni.

According to communication from FUFA, Infantino who was slated to arrive in Uganda on a two day this Saturday, will now jet in on Friday at 6pm and depart Saturday.

"The programme has been changed to suit the stakeholders who will meet the FIFA president on the historic visit to Uganda. It was done in consultation with the team at FIFA in Zurich and all parties involved are comfortable with the new schedule," FUFA communications manager Ahmed Hussein said.

During the visit, Infantino is expected to meet Museveni, the First Lady and the Minister of Sports and Education, Janet Museveni, the FUFA executive committee, FUFA members, football sponsors in Uganda and the Uganda Cranes.

Since his election last year, Infantino has embarked on meeting FIFA member associations around the globe to share ideas on football development projects.

Without elaborating, FUFA president Moses Magogo has said that Ugandan football will change after Infantino's visit.

"Football needs such contacts for the sport to grow. Ugandan football will not be the same after his visit. It is a great moment for Ugandan football" Magogo said after the visit was confirmed.
