This year's championship that started with a tense mood

Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) president Hadija Namanda has found herself working hard to reconcile the highly polarized volleyball fraternity.

At the annual Forum for Clubs Corporation (4CC) championship, Namanda called for individuals or clubs to stage various volleyball competitions to foster friendships.

Namanda was presiding over closure of this year's championship that is organised by former UVF officials and volleyball players at the KCCA volleyball club grounds annually.

This year's championship that started with a tense mood among officials ended with a relaxed one.

It was the first time that the highly polarized volleyball fraternity that had traded accusations during their general elections was meeting again since January.

"I encourage more of such championships that will foster friendships and competitiveness among clubs. We shall give them all the support within our means. It is only such championships that encourage competition going into the league," Namanda said in an exclusive interview after crowning VVC.

The 4CC attracts VVC, Matrixx, KCCA and Police volleyball clubs alongside a team of retired volleyball players now holding responsibilities as referees, coaches and federation officials among others.
