A Policeman has turned a gun to himself after shooting his wife dead at Nsambya a Kampala city suburb.
"I have killed my wife," Okot Kabilla quoted Godfrey Sabiiti a constable attached to Very Important People Protection Unit (VIPPU) as saying.
Sabiiti, 36, who hails from Nebbi district and his wife Caroline Akol, 28, their bodies were found in a pool of blood in a small house at Nsambya barracks.
According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred at around 6:10am after Sabiiti had singed for a gun from the armoury.
"We woke up at 5:30am and went to fetch water. After that Akol prepared warm water for Sabiiti. I then went back to bed. Before putting my head down, I heard gun shots and ran out of the house," Charles Erongot, Akol's brother narrated.
The couple is survived by three children aged 2, 4 and 7.
