Uganda Cranes midfielder Farouk Miya has been loaned to Royal Excel Mouscron from Standard de Liège Standard de Liège for the rest of season.

"Thanks for the warm reception Royal Excel Mouscron. Lets do this,"Miya posted on his social media platform.

In January last year, Miya moved to Standard de Liège from Ugandan club Vipers on a six month loan with an option to buy him.

Later in May, Miya signed a three year contract with the Belgian giants till June 2019.

Miya's transfer to Royal Excel Mouscron comes a day after he won CNN Goal of the week award. The goal was in the Cranes 1-1 draw against Mali in the last game of group D of the AFCON finals in Gabon.

The attacking midiflder who has been struggling for playing time ever since he joined Standard Liege has a huge task to save Royal Excel Mouscron from relegation as they are bottom on the table with 18 points from 24 games.
