Court hears Kanyamunyu bail application

Kanyamunyu, 39, the executive director of Quantum Express Logistics appeared in court alongside his brother Joseph Kanyamunyu, 40, and Cynthia Munwangari, 26. The accused have spent a month in Luzira.Kanyamunyu is suspected to have shot Akena, 33, on November 13 in the stomach over a car scratch and he died a day after at Norvik Hospital, along Bombo road.

High Court Judge Elizabeth Kabanda is hearing a bail application for Mathew Kanyamunyu and two co-accused in a murder case.

This after Nakawa court further remanded the accused to Luzira Prisons until January 17, 2017 pending further investigations

Kanyamunyu is suspected to have shot Akena, 33, on November 13 in the stomach over a car scratch and he died a day after at Norvik Hospital, along Bombo road.

The accused are battling charges of murder contrary to section 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act (PCA). According to the Act, any person convicted of murder faces a death penalty.
