Athiyo not about to get carried away by Heathens form

Despite registering their 7th consecutive win in the league over the weekend, Hima Heathens Coach Mohammed Athiyo is not about to be carried away by their perfect start to the season.

Heathens beat Pirates 28-13 over the weekend to open up a five-point lead at the top of the log but Athiyo expects more tough games ahead and will take one game at a time before he can count his side winning the championship.

"It is too early to say we are going to win the league. There are definitely harder games coming up and we expect to meet the same sides we have beaten, much improved in the second round," Athiyo said.

"Our next game is against Kobs which is always a tough fixture and we also have to play the much improved Rhinos, so I will take one game at a time," Athiyo added.

On Saturday, Vincent Mose, Romano Ogwal, Michael Wokorach and Kenneth Okong scored a try each with Aaron Ofoirwoth adding four conversions for Heathens who remain the only unbeaten side at this stage.

The Buzz Pirates replied through a Conrad Wanyama try, penalty and conversion as well as a Haruna Mohamed penalty.

Kobs who beat the Warriors 47-7 at Kyadondo are now second on the log on 28 points two ahead of the Pirates, who lost their second game in a row.

Earlier Rhinos had seen off the Gulu Elephants 76-8 while the Entebbe Mongers were also 28-3 winners over the rams going into the Christamas break.
