Keko wins big at Hip-Hop awards

While on stage, the make you dance hit maker said: "Some people in Uganda say that Hip Hop is dead. Hip Hop is still active.”

Uganda's top female rapper Jocylene Tracy commonly known Keko has reaped big in the UG Hip-hop awards held in Kampala on Thursday night.

Keko scooped female artiste of the year award, flooring MC Yallah, the Sphynxand Lady Slyke. Her song, Love from Venus also won mix tape of the year award. She was also among the group that walked away with the best music collabo award.

She applauded her fans for voting her. "Thank you my fans, God my friends and family. We got best collabo, mixtape, female artist. We party this weekend," she tweeted.

Keko in March this year announced she was throwing in a towel. She however, left the revellers extremely excited when she staged an electrifying performance during Navio's Njogereza concert on October 9.

Other artistes who won big at UG Hip Hop awards include: rapper Navio, Ruyonga, the Mith among many others.

The UG Hip Hop honors individuals and brands for their contribution towards the enrichment of the genre through the different elements of hip-hop.
