WAKISO town council clerk Paddy Kakumba has been forced to hand over the office by the district chief executive officer, Luke Lokuda.

Lokuda allocated the office to incoming town clerk Cox Ssempebwa after he was posted to the district. However, Kakumba had refused to hand over forcing the district to force him out.

"You have witnessed the hand over but it has been a forced one. Kakumba had refused to go but the CAO has forced him. I had also refused to take over this office because the town council has been messed up and Kakumba made me to operate from a store for 20 days," Ssempebwa said after Kabakumba was forced out.

Lokuda dispatched a group of three auditors to go and witness the handover on Tuesday which took place at Wakiso town council offices.

The auditors group led by the Wakiso district internal auditor, Simon Busuulwa created a tough moment for Kakumba, and put him under pressure to explain missing monies totaling sh48m. The money was meant to clear the taxi park land.

Kakumba was also accused of mismanaging the town council's vehicles and that most of them have broken down while other vehicles have been vandalized.

In his defense, Kakumba told New Vision that Council engineer Geoffrey Ndiwalana was to blame.
