The outcome from the International Women's T20 Cup will not determine the fate of Francis Otieno, the new head coach for the national senior women's team, the New Vision understands.

The UCA is willing to give the Kenyan national enough time to prove his abilities inspite of having been secured on a three month "renewable" contract by the UCA.

Speaking during the official flag off of the National Senior Women's Team to the UAE Monday at Lugogo, Justin Ligyalingi, the UCA Chief Executive Officer confirmed that the new man would be given all the time he needs.

"We are open to presenting the coach with a new long term contract and the outcome from the tournament is nothing to determine that. We had given him a short contract initially because we had not yet out lined the 2017 calendar and as you may understand, appointing a national coach doesn't come cheap," said Ligyalingi.

The seven team-tournament will be played on groups basis (two groups) as Uganda is seeded with Kuwait and Oman in group B while Kenya Qatar,Malysia and UAE in group A.

The team of fourteen players includes; Carol Namugenyi, Lelia Namaganda, Consy Aweko, Naome Kayondo, Grace Ayato, Frankline Najjumba, Rita Musamali, Stephanie Nampiina, Gloria Adubu, Kevin Awino ,Gertrude Chandiru, Rachael Ntono, Barbra Mukankusi and Joyce Apio.
