Currently volleyball is in disarray with clubs and the federation at loggerheads

Former Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) technical director Eddy Okila has declared his interest to replace the outgoing president Sadik Nasiwu at the helm of the federation.

His declaration brings the number to two people interested in contesting the office after Hadija Namanda earlier announced her ambitions to become the first female UVF president.

In an exclusive interview, Okila said that he hopes to return to UVF after a while out of volleyball activities because his ambitions for the sports were frustrated.

"Having consulted various stakeholders both within and out of the volleyball fraternity to reconsider going back to the federation to help it grow to the next level, I hereby announce my intentions to run for president of the Uganda Volleyball Federation in the 2017 General Election," Okila said on Tuesday.

Currently volleyball is in disarray with clubs and the federation at loggerheads and Okila said that his plan is to hermonise the fraternity and then polularise the sport at both local and international levels scene.
