Bukedde TV cooking competitions return

This year's competitions will be sponsored by Unga Millers (U) Ltd, dealers in Exe Bakers Flour and Exe Home Baking Flour

Bukedde TV has once again organized cooking competitions and that will kick off on 1st December.

This is the second time Bukedde TV, Vision Group's Luganda TV station, is organizing cooking competitions it successfully organized in 2015.

Bukedde TV 1 station manager, James Serunkuuma, said the competitions which will take place in different parts of the country are meant to recognize, appreciate and give back to Vision Group's customers.

"Not many people eat in hotels. Majority eat food prepared in markets and restaurants. Bukedde TV has decided to organize these competitions to appreciate and recognize efforts of all people that prepare all kinds of food for different people" he said.

"Last year, we organized the very first one, it was very successful, we left people yearning for more, the reason to organize another one to appreciate these people that cook for us," he added

The launching event was held at Vision Group's main offices, Industrial area yesterday.

This year's competitions will be sponsored by Unga Millers (U) Ltd, dealers in Exe Bakers Flour and Exe Home Baking Flour.

Others are Chapa General, Kikuubo, dealers in Rina Vegetable Cooking Oil and Prestige Margarine.

Joweria Nabuuma the events supervisor, Vision Group, said unlike last year where participants concentrated more on preparing matooke, chicken and luwombo, this time around, rolex will also be part of the completion.

She said whoever participates in the competition will go away with a gift that same day, and runners-up will get cash prizes.

On December 1st, competitions will take place at Lufula (Catida), on 2nd, the team will be at Kitetika-Gayaza, on 5th, at Katwe Market and on 6th, and the team will be at Wandegeya Market.

On 7th December, competitions will take place at Namawojolo, on 8th, at Owino market, on 9th, at Najjembe, on 12th the competitions will be at Nakasero Market and the last competitions will take place at Lukaya.

"After the competitions, Bukedde TV one will air them for eight weeks so that we show who the winners are, what criteria was used to select them and what each participant will have won" said Nabuuma.

Sumayiyah Muwonge, one of the judges said some of the key areas to consider during the competitions include; hygiene of the place, the person preparing the food, how delicious and ready the food is among others.
