Sam Ssimbwa likely to take over at Express

Reports have linked Ssimbwa to be the next man in charge of the six time local league winners who are looking to refit themselves.

Legendary football coach Sam Ssimbwa is likely to take over the reins at Express FC following the resignation of Wasswa Bbosa whose latest account of five games without a win takes the biscuit.

"Today has been my last game at Express. I requested the club executive to leave since I feel I can no longer work within this kind of environment where some officials are against me" Bbosa stated after the 1-1 draw against URA at Wankulukuku on Tuesday.

Earlier, club Chairman Nakiwala Kiyingi had stated that he was given an ultimatum of securing maximum points in order to keep his job, to which he failed.

Unofficial reports have linked Ssimbwa to be the next man in charge of the six time local league winners who are looking to refit themselves.

He is a well demonstrated figure having played for Mbale Heroes and KCC. He also featured for the Uganda cranes between 1989-1993.As coach,the 49 year old has managed a mouthful of clubs including among others SC Villa, KCCA, Simba, SC Victoria University, Somalia National team.

This would become his third time with the red eagles having coached there in 2007 and 2013

However when contacted, Ssimbwa who is currently coaching Soana declined to comment on the matter but still sources within the club indicate the club officials will have a meeting before end of this week to officially update on the on-goings within the club.
