Maroons return to top of FUFA Big League table

Maroons FC have returned to the top of the FUFA Big League table having registered a 2-0 win over Lira based side Bright Light FC at home on Thursday.

The win ensured Maroons returned to the top of the table in the Elgon group, replacing Paidha Black Angels who played to a one all draw with Moroto FC in Moroto.

Maroons coach Asaph Mwebaze hailed his boys for picking up yet another home win as they battle to return to top flight.

"Winning home games is very important in staying ahead of the pack in the Big League which is very competitive," he says.

Mwebaze added that the win has boosted the teams' confidence ahead of their next home game against Ndejje FC, their biggest challenger so far in the league.

Meanwhile Bright Light FC return to action Saturday October 15, 2016 against Kira United. Coach Mike Odongo says they are focused on restoring the players' fitness levels ahead of the Saturday game.
