Hockey third round ends

The third round climaxed with a perpetual feeling of disappointment in the Simba’s camp after losing to their closest rival 6-2 against Kampala at Lugogo hockey ground this weekend.

With the fourth round set to resume in three weeks' time, the third round that ended on Sunday had a number of talking points from the perpetual acts of clubs.

The third round climaxed with a perpetual feeling of disappointment in the Simba's camp after losing to their closest rival 6-2 against Kampala at Lugogo hockey ground this weekend.

Kampala's Samuel Wakhisi who made his first ever brace hatrick opened with a triumph shoot at the 8th minute of the game. Shortly after a while, Simba attacker Jerome Owori canceled it at the 17th minute to level the result.

Wakhisi could not live any stone unturned by tipping more two goals consecutively at 29th and 32nd minute before the climax of half time to reduce the winning thoughts of Simba.

Elsewhere, also third placed KHC Swans happened to broke down the long time un beaten run in this season against the current table leaders Wananchi women team after leading them with 3-2 confortable win.

A week ago, Rockets club proved to have their first ever one point in this season clinging it from Kampala club by registering a 2-2 draw.

Habitual winners Wananchi Men and Women teams enjoyed a huge degree of parity in the third round of the league after finishing on top at 27 and 31 respectively.

Unlike Wananchi clubs as stated above, other men's teams the likes of Weatherhead, Kampala,Simba Rockets stands at 21,17,11,1  respectively. Whereas Weatherhead Gazelles,KHC Swans,Deliverence,and Weatherhead Jaguars are at 25,21,7,1in women category.
