Keshwala Knights 131/8 Pak Stallions Spartans 108 (Knights win by 23 runs)

It was a difference of 23 runs that separated the two sides as Keshwala Knights beat Spartans to the third edition of the Generation Next Cricket Youth Challenge on Friday at the Lugogo oval.

After sweeping two time former champions Titans by 95 runs, Spartans came into the final with high expectations and the confidence required to command the game but they came up short.

Frank Akankwasa and Co took the field and began their charge towards a somewhat formidable target of 131 in the first innings of the game.

In an unfamiliar occurrence, Davis Acire one of the tail enders was close to notching a half century, striking 43 from 41 balls on the way to what would turn out to be an beatable score.

Earlier, Emma Hasakya the tournament's best batsman had made 20 off 23 balls before he was trapped lbw. In the second innings, skipper Akankwasa claimed 3/15 in 5 overs.

"We have had a good game though we had issues with the officiation of the game but at the end of it all we had a shield to our name" said Akankwasa.

Derrick Bakunzi's Spartans were left to rue their misfortune after they were all out for 108.

Cosmas Kyewuta and Innocent Mwebaze posted 19 from 19 balls and 14 from 17 for Spartans respectively.

The tournament was sponsored by the UCA, ABC Stilez, Pak Stallions, Aziz Damani, Lakhani Motors, CASE Hospital, Lato Milk, Mehta Group, and Amari Couriers.
