Do you need to consult on anything about your health? Have you always wanted a medical check-up, but did not know where to go? The chance is here. Vision Group together with several service providers in the health sector have organised a two-day health camp at the Centenary Park in Kampala.

The camp started today and will end tomorrow. Services offered include breast and cervical cancer sensitisation and check-up which are being provided by International Hospital Kampala and the Uganda Women's Cancer Support Organisation.

Other services are free eye check-up, and free blood tests for HIV, Hepatitis B and sugar levels. Several service providers are also checking blood pressure and weight and giving free advice on what lifestyle changes one needs to do.

According to Lynda Mabiike Katende, one of the organisers from Vision Group, people have turned up in huge numbers. She says the camp was scheduled to open at 9:00am, but by 6:00am, there were over 200 people waiting to be attended to.

Although many people seemed to find the services they desired, those who came to see ear, nose and throat specialists seemed not to have got what they wanted. Many of them went to the CORSU tent asking whether they could be attended to. However, CORSU is a hospital for people with disabilities.
