The mood is high at Karuzika Palace in Fort Portal as King Oyo Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV celebrates his 21st coronation anniversary.

The function is being attended by a number of dignitaries including the Sudan ambassador to Uganda HE Abdelbogih Kabeir, the second deputy prime minister Kirunda Kivejinja, the Gender and Culture minister Peace Mutuzo, district chairpersons from Kabarole, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kyenjojo, Ntoroko among others.

Speaking on behalf of all local government leaders the mayor fort portal municipality Rev Kintu Willy Muhanga appealed to the king to think of investing in skilling youths within the kingdom.

Muhanga called on all kingdom officials to join hands with his office in the development of Toro Kingdom.
Amakondere dance at Karuzika"More than 78% of the Kingdom population is youth but they do not have jobs. Others are in school while others have not even got an opportunity to be in school" Muhanga said.
He asked the king to lobby investors so that Toro youths can get jobs.
Peace Mutuzo the minister for culture and gender said that government recognizes the efforts of kingdoms in nation development.
"Cultural leaders are dependable source for cultural guidance for our country Uganda. Government is committed to work with all cultural leaders as custodians of our heritage" Mutuzo said.
She however challenged all cultural institutions to fight cultural practices that promote gender based violence and the spread of aids.
