Bishop Drandua to be buried next week

Uganda Episcopal conference has announced the program for the burial of retired bishop of Arua Diocese, Frederick Drandua, who died at Nsambya Hospital on Thursday.

The secretariat said in a press release that there will be a requiem mass at Bbina Parish, Luzira on Saturday at 11.00am local time.

The following day, the body will be transferred to Nebbi Cathedral Parish for another funeral service, and also on Monday at his home parish Uleppi in Nebbi Catholic Diocese.

Then on Tuesday the body will be taken to Ediofe Cathedral parish and a mass for burial will take place there on Wednesday at 11.00am.

Drandua, born 73 years ago in Nebbi, breathed his last in Kampala at around 4.00am local time.

He was ordained a priest in 1970, appointed Bishop of Arua Diocese 16 years later and then consecrated that same year (1986).

He retired as bishop of Arua Diocese on August 19 2009 due to his health condition.
