The Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES), in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Uganda, has positioned itself for a dramatic surge in Basic Education (BE) capacity and success.

Introduction

The Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES), in partnership with the US Agency for International Development (USAID)/Uganda, has positioned itself for a dramatic surge in Basic Education (BE) capacity and success.

The five-year USAID/Uganda Literacy Achievement and Retention Activity (LARA), implemented by the MoES and RTI international, is designed to build upon and contribute to this momentum by expanding the early grade reading program and establishing a positive and supportive school climate in schools in 28 districts.

LARA will work across all levels of MoES and with other education stakeholders to build the literacy of early primary grade learners and improve retention. Click here for more..
