The Buganda Lukiiko has castigated city lawyer Male Mabirizi, who early this month dragged Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi to court. Mabirizi sought declaration that the compulsory registration of people living on land registered in his (Kabaka's) name at a fee is illegal.

The county (Masaza) representatives during the session at Bulange, Mengo on Monday, described the lawyer's act as undermining the Kabaka.

Christine Mugerwa, Buganda's minister in charge of cabinet affairs, describes the act as illegal, which shall not be tolerated.

In his suit filed on August 8 filed at the High Court in Kampala, Mabirizi seeks a court order declaring the Kabaka's actions on holding out as land owner of the official  mailo land registered in his name is null and void, arguing that the Kabaka is a mere trustee.
