He said for the time that the NRM has been in power, development would have since been achieved.

FDC politician Dr. Kizza Besigye has criticized President Yoweri Museveni for boosting development projects in the Acholi sub-region that are less beneficial to the community.

He said that for the 30 years that the NRM has been in power, development would have long been achieved if the available resources were being put to good use.

Reacting to President Museveni's speech made during his recent visit in Omoro district, Besigye said it's insignificant for the president to boost the rural electrification program that the locals cannot put to use.

If that money, worth billions of shillings, had been used to purchase tractors to help farmers start large-scale farming, it would have been more impactful, added the opposition politician.

He said the Acholi sub-region is being threatened by the new aggression of Hepatitis B and Nodding disease and other medical conditions that were not heard of before and that the government needs to address them.
