Mityana NRM strongman Kato laid to rest

NRM supporters in Mityana district are mourning the death of their long-time supporter, Alooni Kato.

Kato, who has been a resident of Maanyi village in Busujju County, died on Friday and was laid to rest on Saturday at his home in Maanyi.

Attending the burial were hundreds of NRM members and leaders from Mityana, Mubende and other parts of the country, who commended the deceased for his love and effort he gave the party.

Kato is remembered for supporting and campaigning for President Yoweri Museveni and Mityana politicians like minister Vincent Nyanzi, former Mityana woman MP Sylvia Namabidde among others.

In his condolence message, state minister for tourism Godfrey Kiwanda described the deceased as an open and straight forward hard working person.

"He was so open and advised many people especially in politics. He openly supported NRM and everywhere, he talked well about the party," he said.

State minister for Kampala Bennah Bugembe and many other politicians also attended the burial.

The Mityana district party leaders commended the deceased for his support towards the party.
