Uganda is preparing to host the first ever regional women’s championship in September

CECAFA general secretary Nicholas Musonye is expected to visit Kampala to update the regional body over FUFA's readiness to stage their inaugural women competition here.

Uganda is preparing to host the first ever regional women's championship in September and FUFA said on Wednesday that Musonye wants to gauge its readiness for the competition.

CECAFA is still struggling with this year's CECAFA Kagame Cup that was slated for early this year before Rwanda pulled out from hosting the games in Kigali.

Todate, the games have still not been held.

But FUFA is willing to stage the women's championship as its return to promoting women football after a year of suspension.
