Simba Hockey Club hopes to narrow the gap this weekend as round two of the National Hockey League gets underway.

The fourth placed side is scheduled to play against Kampala Club (Stallions) on Saturday at the main Hockey National Stadium Lugogo.

Simba with eight points in seven matches needs to raise its performance to be among the inaugural title contenders.

Simba skipper Mohammed Ali is confident that they are determined to take chances against their closest rival that's ahead by one point.

"We had a short resting break last weekend and I think my fellow players are fit to meet the Kampala strongmen. We have to focus on a win because in the first round we played a good game against them though it ended in a 2-2 draw" Ali said.
