Makalama is new rugby U-19 coach

The team is currently preparing for the Rugby Africa U-19 tier 1B tournament on August 23-29 in Madagascar.

Uganda Rugby Union has appointed Brian Makalama as the National U-19 boys 15s team.

Makalama brings a lot of coaching experience to the team having been a former coach of Rugby Cranes, Lady Rugby Cranes, Black Pirates Rugby club, Western Bulls of Kenya, Bungoma Sharks and he is currently the Shell Rhimula Rhinos head coach in the Uganda.

The team is currently preparing for the Rugby Africa U-19 tier 1B tournament on August 23-29 in Madagascar.

"Our major target is having a strong national team and I have to grow these boys from their school rugby to the national team like the current crop of players in the national team," Makalama stated.

He will be assisted by Dennis Etucket, Benjamin Temper (Strength & Conditioning Coach) and valence Bizimana (Team Manager).
