Buteme names squad for Prinsloo 7s Nakuru

Lady Rugby Cranes 7s (Uganda Gazelle) team coach Helena Buteme has named her squad for the Prinsloo 7s tournament in Nakuru Kenya over the weekend.

The 15 women squad will be captained by Harriet Kayonjo and deputised by youngster Grace Auma.

The squad that leaves on Friday by road includes;  Aisha Nakityo, Brenda Kayiyi, Charlotte Mudoola, Clare Anena, Emmanuella Oroma,Hariet Kayonjo (Captain), Grace Auma (Assist. Captain), Gilder Azikuru, Peace Mirembe and Peace Wokorach.

Others are; Phiona Nalubwama, Samiya Ayikoru, Els Annekatrin (Team manager), Helen Buteme (Coach), Nelson Mayeku (Team Physiotherapist).

Buteme will use the Kenya Prinsloo 7s tournament in Nakuru to expose players to international competitions in preparation for the Africa Women 7s tournament on September 16-17 in Zimbabwe.

"I will use this tournament to try out players in the different positions as we try to get different playing combinations," Buteme stated.

She also explained that the tournament will help the team build on their performance after the Masaku 7s where they emerged champions.
