Rugby Cranes ready for Kenya fight

The team on Friday, had a captains run at Rugby football Union of East Africa Grounds on Ngong road to have a feel of the pitch that will host the game.

The Rugby Cranes landed in Nairobi on Thursday with Coach John Duncan promising a good fight against Kenya Simbas on Saturday in the Africa tier 1A game that doubles as the Elgon Cup second leg.

The team on Friday, had a captains run at Rugby football Union of East Africa Grounds on Ngong road to have a feel of the pitch that will host the game.

"The team is good, the weather so far is good and we are ready for the fight," John Duncan told New Vision.

"This is a local derby and we do expect an intense battle from both sides. The Rugby Cranes are here to compete and take the game to the Simbas. We have worked hard since losing the Elgon Cup first leg and the team has registered lots of improvement."

Rugby Cranes team; Asuman Mugerwa, Cyrus Watum, Brian Odongo (captain), Charles Uhuru, Byron Oketayot, Brian Asaba, Pius Ogena, Marvin Odongo, Davis Kyewalabye, Ivan Magomu, Lawrence Ssebuliba, Oscar Kalyango and Michael Wokorach.

Others are James Odongo and Philip Wokorach while replacements are Eric Kasiita, Elijah Kitooke, Collin Kimbowa, John Wandicho, Arthur Mpande, Robert Masendi, Chris Lubanga and Joseph Aredo.
