Vipers, Onduparaka,Express fined by FUFA

FUFA fined the three after they have failed to meet requirements listed under criteria A for every club in the top flight league.

SC Vipers, Onduparaka and Express FC will have to part with a sh200,000 fine before FUFA can allow the clubs to take part in the Azam Uganda Premier League 2016/2017 season.

Clubs that fulfilled the requirements partially have been fined sh100000 each while those that have not submitted any document to the effect will fork out sh200,000 as a fine.

The FUFA Licensing Committee boss Bernard Ogwel said that to improve the standard of the league management to international levels, his office will ensure that all the participating clubs fulfill the necessary requirements before the league rolls off, August 19.

"The aim of club licensing is to improve the management of the game from amateur to professional level as guided by CAF and FIFA" Ogwel said.

Under the new amended club licensing regulations, the minimum qualification for the head coach and his assistant in the Azam Uganda Premier League should be CAF B coaching license holder.

Coaches for the FUFA Juniors Elite League (U-17) teams of the premier league clubs should possess a minimum of a CAF C coaching license.

The Club CEO should be a signatory to the club bank account. Other requirements include subscription fee of sh2m, should have season's budget, sources of income, Certified CEO and a copy of his contract with the club, current bank statement, contracted medical personnel, coach and proof of license, tenancy agreement for office and stadium.

Only KCCA FC and Soana  FC have fulfilled the above requirements while Lweza FC, BUL FC, JMC Hippos, Kirinya Jinja SS,Proline, SC Villa, Bright Stars, Police FC, The Saints, Sadolin Paints and URA have partially fulfilled it.
