Ever since famous charismatic preacher John Baptist Mukajanga died, several Christians have been engaging in prayers to celebrate his life and also to pray for his soul.

Hundreds of believers on Monday held mass at Shauriako plaza in Kampala city centre where Mukajanga used to conduct prayers every Monday to pray for him and carry on his work of preaching the gospel.

Mukajanga, 42, was found at his home dead on Saturday July 16 and was laid to rest at Mt Sion Prayer Centre Bukalango in Wakiso district leaving many people in sorrow.

Preaching the gospel during Mass, Fr. Denis Sebugwawo a priest at St. Maria Mulumba church at old Kampala said Mukajanga was a fisherman who drew many to the church through his preaching in the whole of his life.

"All of you should pull people to the church as JB was doing, whoever does this will be greatly awarded in the Kingdom of God," Sebugwawo told the congregation.

He added that Mukajanga will surely be welcomed by God adding that people are celebrating mass for him on the same day as church is celebrating St Jacob's day.

Sebugwawo further urged people to be in good relations with their parents adding that their prayers are considered a lot by God and determine one's fete in the kingdom of God.

He cautioned parents on calling their children weird terms like animals' name like dogs adding that such things affect them in different ways.

The celebrant advised people to pray wherever they are at all times to prevent the devil's plans from succeeding.

Justine Buwembo, one of the preachers at the JB Mukajanga ministries said people should pray for Mukajanga and other fallen people so that they are forgiven by God.

She added that now that Mukajanga who used to support the ministry is not around, people should support the ministry work by buying Music CDs that were done by Mukajanga and other things.
