On her first visit to the Pearl of Africa, Dana Simovic got a vision of transforming Uganda for the better through environmental education.

However, to do so she needed a lot of money to fund the project and people who would buy her idea as well.

This saw her partner with seven schools namely; Police Childrens School Kibuli, Railways Primary Nsambya, Kibuye Primary, Kabowa Primary, Queen of Peace, Kitebi Primary, Kabowa Church of God and Kibuli Demonstration and now, the fruits are visible.

"I can put on a smile. We have made tremendous steps and we will be there with time," Simovic, the founder of Developing A New Africa (DANA) told New Vision.

Together with Dr. Tony Mukasa Lusambu, the assistant commissioner primary education from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Sports, they checked on the progress and awarded the schools.

Out of the seven, Kabowa Church of God won the overall trophy which will be followed by a water tank of 1000ltrs.

"I thank DANA for this climate saving work and I urge parents to let the children practice this at home," Mukasa noted.

"Government should also jump in and help this move to other parts of the country because now it's only here" he added.

Similarly a song to sensitize about the ‘Go Green' campaign dumbed 'Time To Act Now' was recorded and the video featuring Ragga Dee, Rema Namakula, Coco Finger, and Washington among others was shot.
