Thunderbirds defeated Entebbe Sharks 17-0 to win the Makerere Circuit on Saturday.

In the semi-final, Thunderbirds saw off their traditional rivals Black Panthers 26-0 while Entebbe Sharks defeated Jinja base Walukuba Titans 17-12.

The tournament has six circuits and the team which accumulates the highest points emerges as the National Champions.

Meanwhile, Rams coach player Richard Lumu lived by example, scoring two tries to inspire his side to 12-10 defeat of Sadolin Mongers in the final National Rugby 7s tournament Makerere Circuit at Grave Yard ground Makerere on Saturday.

Lumu also scored a try in the semi-final as his side upset former champions and pre-tournament favourites Hima Cement Heathens 7-5.

"We came as underdogs but we knew that sevens rugby is different from 15s a side and we can win. So that belief inspired us to work hard and indeed we are now champions of the Makerere Circuit,"Lumu said.

"The win is a big motivation for us in the second circuit which is the Kitaka Memorial at Legends Rugby ground and we win."

Mongers who defeated Kobs 14-5 in the semi-final.
