Castle Lite boosts Rotarians

The offer that was unveiled by Castle Lite brand manager Julian Ssentamu at Luzira on Wednesday is a boost towards the charity football event.

The annual Rotary 5-a-side football championship took crystal shape after Castle Lite offered sh10m towards the event.

The third edition of the event organized by Rotary Club of Kiwatule is due this month on July 30 at Kyandondo Rugby Club ground is meant to raise funds for charitable community causes.

The tournament that grossed over sh10m in proceeds last year will involve 16 Rotary and Rotaract clubs across the country.

Proceeds in the event will be channeled to charitable projects in local communities, Rotary Assistant governor Zone 6 Anne Nkutu said.

While handing over the sponsorship to the organisers, Ssentamu promised more support to the event.

"This is great cause to which we are privileged to be part of. As a brand, we always wish to play a positive role in communities in which we operate," said Ssentamu.

Besides Nile Breweries, other sponsors of the one-day social event include KCB Bank, DStv.

Among the top teams expected to vie for honour are Totary Club Kampala Ssese, Rotary Club of Muyega, Rotary Club of Mengo and Rotary Club of Hoima.

The best performing teams in the event will receive prize money which will be ploughed back for charitable causes in the areas of their operation.
