FIFA and government have advised FUFA register a limited company under a different name to avoid confusion between the association and a limited company.

The manager of member associations at FIFA has advised FUFA to concentrate on Uganda's Africa National Cup qualifier match against Comoros and the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in September and October respectively.

After striking an agreement with the government on FUFA's registration with National Council of Sports (NCS) under the Trustees Act on Tuesday, Luca Nicola said that Uganda can do well in the both the AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.

"We are happy the government has agreed not to interfere and will work for the development of football in the country. We hope the focus can now be on the National Cup qualifier against Comoros and the World Cup," Nicola said.

FIFA had issued a warning of sanction in June as FUFA found itself battling a demand for it to sign as a trustee with the government. FIFA looked at it as government interference which is prohibited under its statutes.

However, both FIFA and government have advised FUFA register a limited company under a different name to avoid confusion between the association and a limited company.
