UCA asked for more time to go through the formal process of appointing the trustees

The Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) assembly is to vet the three appointed trustees today to allow them register with the National Council of Sports (NCS).

UCA is among associations that have yet not met requirements for national sports governing bodies to register under the controversial Trustees Act.

UCA has proposed trustees Abbey Lutaya, Stephen Luswata and Ramnal Keshewala and will have an AGM today to allow them complete the registration with NCS.

The three will be vetted to ensure they are the right people as UCA completes their registration process.

UCA asked for more time to go through the formal process of appointing the trustees and have them vetted by their general assembly. The AGM failed to take place last Wednesday because it was a public holiday.

"NCS is aware of the delay. We formally wrote to them over it and they are even invited to witness vetting and possibly endorsement of our trustees just tomorrow (Wednesday)," UCA chief executive officer Justine Ligyalingi said.
