Jul 12, 2016
Action continues Monday in all the four disciplines
Record National Ball Games II netball champions St Mary's Kitende continued the defense of their title on a fine note by thumping Oxford 55-4 in the game played at Immaculate Heart grounds on Sunday.
Kitende had recorded a 52-2 win over St Thereza of Masindi and even without the services of towering goal shooter Mary Cholhok, who sat out with a painful eye for most of the game they still found no problems overpowering their opponents.
In the other games, contenders Kibuli SS survived an early scare against Wagwa High to win game 30-15, after taking a commanding 10-2 lead in the last quarter of the game.
Ankole region champions Welden School also recovered from a shocking 17-16 loss to Kimanya, with a 25-7 win over Bwera SS from Kasese.
In volleyball, boys defending champions St Mary's Kitende also started on a high note following a 2-0 win over Bulo Parents, while Luyanzi and Mbarara High also recorded straight sets wins over Makobore and St Gonzaga respectively.
In the girls category, holders Kinawa and rivals St Bridget Girls of Ankole started well with straight sets wins over Our Lady and St Maria Goretti respectively.
Action continues Monday in all the four disciplines of Handball, Netball, Volleyball and Rugby 7s, while Athletics also starts at Rukungiri Stadium.
