Give to the needy, urges Teso district kadhi

Sheikh Abdul Mutwalib Musa Waiswa says the poor need to be fed well with meat, chicken and rice.

The district kadhi of has called upon the Muslim community of Teso to give to the needy as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

Sheikh Abdul Mutwalib Musa Waiswa said the poor need to be fed well with meat, chicken and rice during and after the celebrations marking the end of the holy month of Ramadhan.

He issued this message after the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Director Shariah, Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu announced that the Muslims would end their Ramadhan on Tuesday.

Sheikh Waiswa also urged Muslims to celebrate Eid al-Fitr peacefully and urged them to take what has been taught in this period of the holy month.

"Abstain from evil activities during and after the Eid al-Fitr day."

Followers are also encouraged to maintain their conduct, unity, peace and stability for the good of the region and the nation at large.

Politicians were reminded to forgive each other because "the game is over" and they now need to focus on developmental issues.

The kadhi wished all parliamentarians, religious leaders, politicians, security organs, politicians and civil servants a happy Eid al-Fitr celebration.

Muslims from all the seven mosques around Soroti town are gathering at Soroti Sports Ground for prayers today.
