To many, Mayanja's exit was inevitable

Tanzanian giants Simba SC have replaced Ugandan coach Jackson Mayanja with Cameroonian John Omog.

Mayanja took over at Simba from Briton Dylan Kerr on an interim basis mid last season but failed to convince the club management despite guiding the side to a third place finish in the league.

Omog, who worked with another Ugandan George Nsimbe at Azam has signed a two year contract.

To many, Mayanja's exit was inevitable especially after he fell out with fellow nationals Murushid Jjuuko, Brian Majwega and the club's top scorer Hamis Kiiza.

The players had accused their dismissal from the club on Mayanja.

Omog however, was quick to caution that changes need time because they cannot be done in a matter of a day.

"I'm pleased to sign a contract to work. Simba is a great club and I believe with mutual cooperation and leadership, members and players can succeed.

We need to be given time to change Simba. The change can't come as a magic wave as patience is needed to make it possible," Omog said.

Omog has also previously worked with the Cameroon national team.
