Ugandan universities for African games

The participants are expected to arrive in South Africa on sartuday.

Ndejje, Makerere, Kyambogo ,UCU and Busitema will represent Uganda in the 8th edition of FASU (Federation of African University Sports) games in South Africa on Sunday.

The biennial event that was last hosted in Kenya, will have this year's edition run from June 26th to July 2nd at the University of Johannesburg and Tshwane University of Technology.

Over 20 participants will be heading to South Africa to show their talent and winning performance. Kampala University (KU) who didn't participate in the last edition is yet to confirm their participation.  The Ggaba side is planning to have their women football team in the event.

Uganda was fifth in the last edition after collecting four, nine and thirty-five gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. The event was won by Egypt.

All Africa University Games, commonly known as the FASU Games is a multi-sport university sport event organized every after two years.

This body FASU is directly affiliated to the world body responsible for sports in Universities known as the Federation of International University Sports (FISU). Participants will take part in athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, football, volleyball, netball, table tennis and tennis.
