Kampala Central division Mayor, Charles Sserunjogi and 39 councilors were sworn in at a ceremony conducted at Bat Valley Primary School by Buganda Road Chief Magistrate James Karemani.

The councilors took oath accompanied by family members and supporters.

Sserunjogi after being given the instruments of power urged his councilors to be servants of the electorate.

"We have been elected not to become bosses but to serve our people" Sserunjogi said.

He vowed to serve all people in the division regardless of their party affiliation.

Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Muhammad Nsereko urged the newly sworn in leaders to be truthful and work together for the development of Kampala Central.

The pompous event had some councilors failing to pronounce some words during the swearing in but got full backing from their supporters.
