Kampala Club inaugurates working committees

The working committees complement the functions of the executive committee in running the club

Kampala Club has inaugurated eight working committees in a bid to streamline and fast track the operations of the club.

The Club Chairman Solomon Rubondo in company of the secretary Asiimwe Rwekikiga installed the new members during a dinner at the club on Saturday.

Jackson Mwesigye, John Bazara, Gizaw Shibru, Jane Nankabirwa Kabugo and Tom Kajumba will serve on the Finance and Planning Committee while David Nyendem, Albert Byamugisha, Zephania Mugisha, Joel Sekabembe, Polly Ndyarugahi and Imelda Twongyeirwe are on the Audit and Assurance committee.

The staff welfare committee is comprised of Nimrod Waniala, Fred Bayendeza, Ruth Washaba, Steven Mayanja and Jim Mukasa while the membership committee has Raphael Baku, Athanasius Rutaro, Chris Kamukama, Jim Kiggundu and Godfrey Omoding.

Edward Byaruhanga, Li Kun, Jog Aruna, Peter Kagumya and Gumisiriza Kaganzi are on the entertainment committee while procurement at the club will be handled by Jog Akhilesh, Jane Guwenda, Wilber Turyamubona, Eliot Ainomuguisha and Duncan Tumwikirize.

Disciplinary issue of the members at the club will be handled by Martin Fowler, Molly Kamukama, Said Iga Bukenya, Silajji Kanyesigye and Herbert Kamugisha with Aggrey Mwesigwa, Henry Mugarura, Arinaitwe Kagame, Charles Ndawula and Ben Mubangizi handling the security issues.

Rubondo explained that the working committees complement the functions of the executive committee in running the club.

Kampala Club is a sports club which is known for indoor and outdoor games like Squash, tennis, table tennis, health club, scrabble, mweso, badminton and swimming and now also has a walking team which is the new sport that has been embraced.

They club runs three main tournaments in the year; the Independence Cup, the Veterans and the Chairman's Cups.
