Justice Steven Musota also directed NSSF to pay sh50m for contempt of court orders that had earlier been stopping the fund from suspending her.

The High Court civil division has ordered the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to pay its deputy managing director, Geraldine Ssali sh200m as general damages.

Justice Steven Musota also directed NSSF to pay sh50m for contempt of court orders that had earlier been stopping the fund from suspending her. His ruling was read on Tuesday by the assistant registrar, Beatrice Atingu.

This comes following an application filed by Ssali seeking a compensation of over sh1.5b and a declaration that the fund acted in contempt when it declined to heed to the court orders.
