Coach Meddie Sserwadda got his cherished semi-final date as Masaka SS takes on Kibuli SS in Satruday's COPA Coca-Cola semi-final in Soroti.

The Masaka tactician's prayer during the quarterfinal was to see his side face Kitende only in the final.

That wish came to reality during the draw after the quarterfinals at Teso College Thursday night.

"It is good to meet Kitende in the finals. I would rather face any team in the semi-final. After the semi-finals we shall be in high gear to beat any side," Sserwadda hinted after the quarterfinals.

The semi-final line up sets up a repeat of Last year's semi-finals. The East African champions Masaka who fell to Kitende 4-0 in the final in Hoima last year are eyeing their maiden win in the event.

Masaka Joseph Janjali and Shanab Wasswa  reeled an unbeaten run against Nakaseke International, Agape SS, Amuria SS, Kigumba, Kabale Brainstorm and Royal Giants ejected Standard High Zana 3-2 in the quarterfinal penalty shootout Thursday.

Former champions Kibuli who squeezed through in second place behind Buddo SS in group G edged out St. Julian High in the last eight stage.

Eight-time champions St. Mary's SS Kitende led by striker Pius Wanji and Nurdin Bunjo seemed to be already in the final as they entertain Blessed Sacrament SS Kimanya of Masaka region in the other semi-final.
