Barenzi also added that where-as it was possible for the league to start while the process was ongoing, they could not do so because only four clubs were ready.

The Handball Federation (UHF) has suspended both the men and women national handball leagues untill clubs fulfil requirements set by the competitions committee.

"We are working on issuing licences before we start the league," Fred Barenzi, the Uganda handball Federation (UNF) chairman for competitions and organisation said.

He explained that they have met the administrators of different clubs including Police, Prisons and UPDF, who have promised to work on the documents required.

Barenzi also added that where-as it was possible for the league to start while the process was ongoing, they could not do so because only four clubs were ready.

"Makerere, Nkumba and Ndejje have been in a break. UPDF, Police and Prison cited a busy schedule," Barenzi explained.

Prisons are the defending champions.
