Kifuse: A teacher minting from farming

Unfortunately, it was never to be as he ended up wandering from one private secondary school to another, but never got onto the government payroll.

When Peter Kifuse left Kaliro National Teachers College in mid-2000, he dreamed of a bright future as a teacher and getting onto the government payroll.

Unfortunately, it was never to be as he ended up wandering from one private secondary school to another, but never got onto the government payroll.

"There was a day I was seated with my brother, another teacher called Paul Kigenyi as I marked students' scripts. We discussed different issues until he wondered aloud why the price of eggs had gone up," Kifuse recalls.

That, Kifuse says, was his turning point. He saw an opportunity in poultry farming and he grabbed it with both hands. That was in 2007.
