Seven jet in for Museveni swearing ceremony

Museveni won the Presidential race in February with over 60% of the votes.

Seven Presidents are in Uganda to attend President Yoweri Museveni's swearing-in ceremony. The seven arrived in the country on Wednesday.

They include John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania; Edgar Lungu of Zambia; Idris Deby Itno of Chad; Mohamadou Issoufou of Niger; Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe; Ibrahim Boubabacar of Mali and Teodore Oblang of Equatorial Guinea.

The Presidents travelled on private jets which landed at Entebbe International airport, starting from 11:00am.

Each President was received by a delegation led by a Ugandan minister at the airport before their convoys sped off to Kampala.

Some Presidents, like Magufuli who were visiting Uganda for the first time, went straight to statehouse to meet President Museveni.

Museveni won the Presidential race in February with over 60% of the votes, beating seven other candidates in the race.

He will now lead Uganda for the next five years and has promised to ensure that Uganda remains steadily progressing in peace and develpment.
