Four microscopes were donated a catholic foundation

Police in Kiryandongo is investigating the circumstances under which microscopes belonging to Kahara Primary School were stolen.

Police said they have arrested the head teacher of Kahara Primary School and his brother in-law who he claimed was a security operative.

"Yes we have arrested them and they are with us here. We want them to help us investigate the matter," DPC Justus Tashobya confirmed to Radio Rupiny.

Four microscopes were donated to Kahara Primary School by a catholic foundation some years back meant to train staff and pupils. They went missing last week which prompted the school management committee to report the matter to Police.

When contacted, Confort Munduru the CID officer in charge of Kiryandongo said the suspects had been detained and the case recorded under file number CRB 497/2016.

"We have arrested two people but one is neither a thief nor belongs to GISO and we don't know how he came in," she explained.
