The Rugby Cranes coaching panel haS summoned 43 players to start training for the Elgon Cup against Kenya and for the Rugby Africa tier 1A tournament against Kenya, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The team will be trimmed to the final squad of 25 players who will then go to Cheetahs rugby Club in South Africa for further training before returning for the Rugby Africa tier 1A championship.
URU CEO Ramsey Olinga confirmed this to New Vision saying that the focus is to have Uganda stay in the tier 1A for next year.
The squad includes, Alex Mubiru, Andrew Olweny, Arthur Mpande, Asuman Mugerwa, Ben Okello, Brian Odongo, Charles Uhuru, Chris Lubanga, Collins Kimbowa, Conrad Wanyama, Cyrus Watum,Davis Kyewalabye, Dennis Mullo, Elijah Segawa ,Eric Kasiita and Gerard Sewankambo.
Others are Herman Ssenkawa, Ivan Magomu, James Ijongat, James Odongo, James Okello, John Wandicho, Joseph Aredo, Kevin Makmot, Lawrence Ssebuliba, Martial Tchumkam, Marvin Odongo, Mathias Ochwo, Oscar Kalyango and 2015 Nile Special USPA rugby player of year Micheal Wokorach.
Philip Wokorach, Pius Ogena, Ramathan Govule, Robert Aziku, Romano Ogwal, Ronald Musajja, Scott Oluoch, Shaun David Baseka, Mathew Egeru, Daudi Ssemwami, Bulago Joseph and Jude Kirya.
