Agago MP blasts 'selfish' Acholi MPs

The Agago woman MP Judith Franca Akello has slammed MPs from Acholi sub-region for selfishly lobbying to benefit themselves.

Akello says it is disappointing that when MPs under the Acholi Parliamentary Group meet the president or donors, they don't discuss issues that concern their people but instead talk about what they will put in their own pockets.

She made the remarks during the Joint Acholi Sub-region Leaders' Forum held at the Catholic Archdiocese with the support from HURAMO and Action Aid.

Leaders who attended the meeting also identified topical issues like land, education, health, cattle compensation, environmental conservation and investment among others, which will form the Acholi agenda.

All leaders at different levels are expected to address all the above through their political mandate either at the district or national level.
